Unpaid Religious Holidays

All employees are eligible. In the event of a discrepancy between this policy and a collective bargaining agreement, the terms of the collective bargaining agreement will govern.

An employee wishing to take time off to observe a religious holiday must notify his/her manager at least 30 days prior to the holiday. The manager should grant the time off request or offer reasonable accommodation unless such time off or accommodation would create an undue hardship for the department.

The employee may take the time as:

  • Time off without pay
  • Vacation
